Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) Overview
Bali main airport is located in Tuban, South Kuta, just 13 km from Kuta Beach and 37 km from Ubud. It serves over 24 million passengers annually and is the third-busiest airport in Indonesia.
Transfer Option 1: Pre-Booked Private Car (Recommended)
The most reliable option. Your driver meets you at arrivals with a name sign, helps with luggage, and drives you directly to your hotel.
- Kuta/Seminyak: IDR 150,000-250,000 (15-30 min)
- Ubud: IDR 350,000-500,000 (60-90 min)
- Nusa Dua: IDR 200,000-300,000 (20-40 min)
- Canggu: IDR 250,000-350,000 (45-60 min)
Transfer Option 2: Airport Taxi
Official airport taxis use a fixed pricing system (no meter). Purchase a voucher at the taxi counter inside the terminal. Prices are 20-30% higher than pre-booked options but guarantee a licensed driver.
Transfer Option 3: Ride-Hailing (Grab/Gojek)
Grab and Gojek operate at DPS but have designated pickup zones outside the terminal. The app price is usually cheaper (IDR 100,000-200,000 to Kuta), but wait times can be 10-20 minutes during peak hours.
Transfer Option 4: Airport Shuttle
Some hotels offer complimentary shuttles. Budget shuttles cost IDR 50,000-100,000 per person but follow fixed schedules and may stop at multiple hotels.
