Peak season. Australian winter school holidays + European summer = maximum crowds. Everything is more expensive and fully booked. Traffic is worst this month. Book car rentals 2-3 months in advance.
August
Peak season continues. Same as July — perfect weather but maximum tourists. Indonesian Independence Day (August 17) brings local celebrations. If you must visit in peak season, book everything early.
September
The sweet spot returns. Weather remains perfect but crowds thin out as school holidays end. Prices drop slightly. One of the best months for a road trip — dry roads, clear skies, and manageable traffic.
October
Dry season finale. Still mostly sunny with occasional pre-monsoon showers. Good weather, lower prices than peak, and thinning crowds. A solid choice for budget-conscious travelers who want dry weather.
November
